Hi I'm Amanda Thorpe. I am very excited to be teaching at Canyon Rim Academy this year. I graduated last fall from Utah State University with a BS in Elementary Education. Before I decided to go back to school, I worked at Emerson Elementary as a Paraprofessional in a self-contained Special Education class. I loved it so much, I decided to get my degree.

I am originally from Salt Lake City in the Sugarhouse area. I come from a family of five kids and I love my niece and nephew. I love doing anything in the outdoors. I recently bought a new mountain bike and have been riding it everywhere. I have a dog named Frankie who loves to go camping, hiking, and swimming with me. He has one blue eye and one brown eye. I love reading, creating art, cooking, playing my guitar, and gardening. My favorite subjects are Science, Math, and Social Studies. My favorite food is of course pizza, but I also love Mexican food and anything my mom cooks!

I am thrilled to be teaching at such a wonderful school. This school year will be full of fun activities and incredible learning opportunities. I look forward to meeting my students and their families.
