Mrs. McCoy
Librarian

Emilee McCoy is our new librarian at Canyon Rim Academy. She believes you should only read on the days you eat, thus you can see why she is perfectly at home in our library. She has always had a passion for children’s literature and would find herself taking piles of picture books to bed with her when she was growing up.

She grew up in the Holladay area and graduated from Olympus High School. She graduated from Utah State Elementary Education. She had many leadership opportunities there including starting her own literacy program called S.T.A.R. Reading. She taught in Granite District for 3 years teaching 3rd grade. She then spent time at home with her 2 children. Later she returned to education in the Jordan School District teaching 4th grade. This is her first year as a librarian and absolutely loves it.

She was recently re-married to a wonderful man this summer. She has two of her own children, Kristin and Spencer. She also has 3 step children, Colton, Kysa and Kylia. She lives in West Jordan and now has her own library at her home with a floor to ceiling books shelf.

She believes that getting children excited about books can help them explore new places in their imagination and help them discover their true passion.
