Biography

Shana Heyn is the ultimate volunteer and never shies away from getting involved. Shana has a vast resume of service and involvement, which has given her immeasurable experience in public education. Shana is passionate about education, she is always striving for excellence and it is this quality that motivated her to become involved in the Canyon Rim Academy Charter.

Shana is an alumnus of the University of Utah. She truly developed a love for learning there which she continues to share not only with her own children but also with all those who she influences.

Shana has served as an elementary PTA President and in various PTA positions at both the local and council levels. She is currently serving as the Skyline Council PTA President. Shana has also served on the school Community Council and worked with the principal and teachers to develop the Student Achievement Plan and disperse the school Trust Lands Funds. Shana has worked in the schools as a substitute teacher, reading volunteer, and math tutor. Her most fulfilling volunteer service is working with the debate teams as their coach and directing the student Shakespeare plays.

Shana’s service extends beyond school into various community organizations. She has served as an area representative for the Impact Soccer Club, scout den leader, and girls’ basketball coach.

Shana believes that every child deserves success and a positive educational experience. She is the mother of three children and her involvement with Canyon Rim Academy has given her the exciting opportunity to influence the direction and climate for her children’s school. She is committed to making CRA a challenging and rewarding educational experience for all children who attend.
